Using Magic Wand for Instant Country Highlighting

Highlighting geographic boundaries used to be a tedious task involving KML files and geo-precision. With Mapimator's Magic Wand, it's now a single-click experience.

Two Tools in One

The Magic Wand is "zoom-intelligent." Its behavior changes based on how much of the world you see:

  • Global View (Zoom < 4): It selects entire Countries.
  • Regional View (Zoom >= 4): It selects individual States or Provinces (like Texas, Bavaria, or Maharashtra).

How to use it

  1. Click the Wand Icon in the center toolbar.
  2. Hover over the map. You’ll see a purple glow and a dashed border indicating what you’re about to select.
  3. Click to confirm. This creates a permanent Region Sticker that you can colorize and animate.

Styling Your Highlight

Once a region is added, you can:

  • Change Colors: Use bright reds for conflicts or professional blues for real estate footprint.
  • Animate: Set the animation type to Draw. The border will trace itself around the country as the camera reaches that slide.
  • Overlay Logos: Use an Image Sticker to place your logo in the center of the highlight.

The Magic Wand is the fastest way to add professional data visualization to your educational projects or news explainers.
